Brooklyn Heights Residence
This 1880’s carriage house is located in the landmarked Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. The program was to convert the building, which was used a parking garage on the ground floor with a rental apartment above into a single family residence with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a single car garage. The street facade was restored, respecting its historic character, while the interiors were opened up to create loft-like spaces with an industrial character. The house features a 2-story skylit stairwell and a new rear courtyard with a small guest house and storage area. The new rear facades incorporate steel and glass window systems set into red brick cladding
