This Tokyo nightclub's rooms are designed to play to the senses, from 'sticky' to 'sweet' to 'pillowy'. I love the graphic elements in all the rooms and how the colors and textures add to the idea of sensations. Via Design Don't Panic.

half nelson table lamp

George Nelson originally designed the Half-Nelson Table Lamp for a large-scale design project, Holiday House, circa 1950. Holiday House was a commissioned vacation home for a magazine of the same name. It was intended to showcase the magazine and to promote a post-war economy where one could afford to own a vacation home. The lamp remained a prototype until 1977 when finally Koch & Lowy, an American Lighting Company, put the Half-Nelson into production until the mid-eighties.
It has been over twenty years since these lamps have been available. The subject of many auctions, especially on ebay, the Half Nelson is back is ints original grandeur from Modernica (the official licensor of all George Nelson Bubble Lamps). The Half Nelson is built to George Nelson’s original specifications. The lamp looks gorgeous on any table or desk setting as it blends sculpture with lighting innovation.
The 'Half-Nelson' Table Lamp utilizes a pivoting shade, which is adjustable both left and right and up and down—giving it the ability to direct light in all directions. The cylinder base and disc are both constructed of black powder-coated aluminum, while the underside of the disc is powder-coated white. The stem connecting the two is made of chromed-aluminum and the on/off switch is built of machined-anodized aluminum.

house in perbes

Díaz y Díaz Arquitectos has designed a family house in Perbes-Miño. The dwelling is located in the highest zone of the plot, to take maximum advantage of the excellent views and to set back, as far as possible, respect to the street. The entrance porch is in the left side of the front of the plot, corresponding with the highest point of the street. It has two doors, one for pedestrian access and another one for vehicles. A ramp allows these to come to the basement level and to gain access to the garage door existing in it. Next to it, an exterior covered seat of parking is arranged. The pedestrian access is made from the door of the parcel through a “capitolina” staircase that reaches the exterior level of the basement and of the stairs of two sections that allows to gain access to the ground floor terrace.

LeCouvent-Loft, is located North of Paris in Val-d’Oise and is in fact an old convent (dating back to the 18th century) turned into a contemporary place to live. The new “loft” has an area of 2,475 square feet and features impressive modern arrangements that you could otherwise find in luxurious penthouses.

the dwelling, located on a plot of limited dimensions characterized by a steep slope, 
looks to closely integrate the structure with the land, unlike nearby properties which are built
upwards, abandoning the terrain.
