Located in the core part of Girona’s medieval quar ter and over look ing the Plaça de Sant Domènec, Spain, this is a prop erty called Ale manys 5 within an orig i nal build ing dat ing back to the six teenth cen tury. The house has been recently ren o vated by archi tect Anna Noguera and has and incred i ble design which inte grates old and new, inte grates tra di tional and con tem po rary elements.

In an oth er wise hor i zon tally ori ented house, a two story glazed wall at the main stair pro vides a sin gu lar ver ti­cal per spec tive on the stands of sur round ing pines and pro vides a moment of tran si tion from the heav ier base ele ment to the light-​​filled airy spaces above. On the upper level, a vari ety of liv ing spaces and the mas ter bed­room suite,each enjoy ing moun tain views, are gath ered between the lin ear roof form and the sim ple block below. The inte rior palette of wal nut, fir,concrete, and steel strikes a bal ance between clean, mod ern spa tial expres sion with the warm, rus tic feel of a moun tain home.

Across the street from Philip Johnson's Glass House, is the private residence he designed in 1951 for Richard Hodgson and his family.  Lovingly restored by Craig Bassam and Scott Bellows of BassamFellows,  and now their new home.  Bassam and Fellows are accomplished Moderinist restorers, their most notable previous project was the Willis N. Mills house also in New Caanan.

Brent Knoll‘ is a new house by March Studio located on the outskirts of Malmsbury. Despite a brief to extend an existing 1850′s homestead, it became apparent that the new extension be detached. Rather than a reinterpretation of a past architecture, the resultant became a celebration of both old and new.

swiss architects frundgallina has designed 'structure d'accueil de colombire', a small restaurant
and lookout on a mountain in mollens, switzerland. characterized by a small, pavilion-like structure
made of reinforced concrete, the two-level project takes advantage of its site and natural topography
by placing the majority of its interior space underground.
